The Vault is editorial writing from the same desk that runs SmōkHaus Cigars. No ghostwriters, no editorial board, no velvet rope. Just honest writing about cigars, retail, and the legislation that shapes both.

Why this exists

Every cigar publication sounds the same. The language is performative — aficionado, connoisseur, transcendent — and the tone talks down to anyone who didn't come up reading the same three magazines. We started The Vault as a business play, sure. SmōkHaus needs readers, and SEO matters. We're not going to pretend otherwise. But the reason we cared enough to actually build it is that the cigar world deserves writing that treats people like adults.

What you'll find

Six sections at launch: Industry News, Reviews, Legislation, Guides, Private Reserve (boutique spotlight), and Annual Roundups. Weekly publishing. Occasional sponsored work — always disclosed clearly, at the top of the piece, never buried.

How we handle sponsorship

When a brand pays us to review their cigar, we say so in plain language at the top: "[Brand] paid for this review. We don't take bribes — this is our honest take." The money buys our time. It does not buy the conclusion.
